It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our camps for this summer will not be able to be offered for the 2020 year. As many of you are aware, the uncertainty and changes due to COVID 19, will make it impossible to safely run our camp due to current restrictions, and safety measures. The health and safety of our campers and staff are our top priority. We wish you a safe and healthy summer, and hope see you in 2021! We will be contacting all families for refunds within the next week. Please email any questions to creativeculinaryminds@gmail.com.

A Message from Diane...

I am passionate about helping each child learn as much as possible. I have always wanted to create an environment where kids thrive to be their best self, to share my love and passion of cooking.

In the past I have studied at George Brown Culinary School, and Southern Alberta School of Technology. After my schooling I worked as a chef for fine dining, 5 Star hotels, Restaurants, and I also owned and operated my own catering business. I also have several years of experience working with children and adolescents through Portage Elora Big Sisters, Foster Parenting and Housing International students. I currently work as the Manager for the Centennial Cafeteria.

I have obtained many certificates and qualifications such as, Chef Certificate and Red Seal, First Aid CPR training, Police Vulnerable Sector Check, Food Handlers Certificate, Foster Parenting course, Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviours, and I am CPI trained (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention).

A look at your cooking experience...

Monday:

We will be making Appetizers. A great selection of hors d'oevres and other wonderful appetizer-type items.

Tuesday:

We will be having Pancake and Brunch Tuesdays. This will give our campers the opportunity to learn how to do pancake art and make a lovely brunch for their parents.

Wednesday:

We will have Wacky Wednesdays! All of the campers will compete to see who can make the wackiest pizza. After they finish that we will do a chef box challenge. This is where the campers will be given a random set of ingredients to see who can make the best dish. (There will be a prize for the best one.)

Thursday:

We will be exploring different food from different cultures around the world. This will include, American (Week 1), Mediterranean (Week 2), Middle Eastern (Week 3), Asian (Week 4).

Friday:

We will be making various types of baked good such as cake, cupcakes, pastries, tarts croissants, and more. Everything the camper bakes will be available for purchase at the end of the day, all proceeds will be donated to the Children's Foundation of Guelph-Wellington.
